AFPA is a public body within the French Ministry of Employment and Solidarity.
It comprises 175 advice centres, 212 training centres and 22 regional agencies
all over the country. It offers vocational training and evaluation, orientation
and information services to unemployed people and employed people in need
of re-adaptation. The main vocational training fields covered are Informatics,
business administration, tourism, catering, transport, social and welfare
services, trade and ICT. It provides guidance and assistance in the development
of tailor-made training measures as well as assistance for individual employment
and training projects in the fields of industry and services.
